Ganduje also ruled out the possibility of reconciling with the former governor of the state. Speaking at a function in Kano, Ganduje said he was surprised at the former governor's attacks against his administration from the beginning of his assumption of duty. He said: “We have had enough of such a vendetta, which had been raging with no end in sight. We have parted ways with Kwankwasiyya forever. “They have erroneously believed and have been telling people that we are on the road to losing our seat in the 2019 general election. I find such a permutation laughable and a mere ranting of a wounded lion. The governor also called on members of the All Progressives Congress in Kano state to focus and work towards the victory of the party at the forthcoming 2019 elections. It was earlier reported that five people were killed on Monday, February 5, in Kano state. The victims of the clash were injured at Talatar-Jido in Dawakin Kudu local government area of Kano state, following a clash between supporters of Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and those of his predecessor. It was gathered that the supporters reportedly engaged themselves wielding weapons and also burnt several shops at Kwanar-Talatar Jido. Also, the vice president, Yemi Osinbajo, recently denied that his visit to Kano was political. Osinbajo said he was never in Kano for the purpose of meeting with a political group in the state. He said he attended a wedding of one of his aides and also paid a customary courtesy visit to the emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi.
